Winter Olympics broadcasting revenues peaked in 2018 at a record $1.4 billion
Broadcasting revenues for the Winter Olympics jumped significantly in 2010 for the games held in Vancouver, Canada.
The games in Sochi, Russia in 2014 held that level, while PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018 saw a significant rise to over $1.4bn. Together these last three Winter Olympics generated over $4 billion in broadcasting revenues, more than all those held previously since 1960 combined.
From 1960 to 2010, average Winter Olympics broadcasting revenues were $246m.
